Custom Floor Care Awarded Blue Ribbon Award for Green Category

To further enhance sustainability and green practices within the community and to positively impact businesses in South Shore, the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority helped organized the inaugural Blue Ribbon Awards. The community recognition program along with the Business Expo and
Earth Day celebration, reflect the area’s concern and involvement with environmental issues.

Green, Service, Experience and Entrepreneur

Info: www.tahoechamber.org. The Green Award winner was Custom Floor Care, recognizing its significant effort to improve and protect Tahoe’s environment by implementing a green service or program.
Owner John Helmer, accepted the honor.

“Cleaning the planet—one room at a time,” is the company’s slogan. Living up to their motto, Custom Floor Care implemented green technology by using bio-degradable products to clean carpets, tile, grout and upholstery while fueling company trucks with bio-diesel and preserving water with state-of-the-art equipment and machinery. Green
carpet cleaning is in high demand, and will hopefully inspire other businesses to create a wider variety of green services.

Honorable mentions in the Green Award category were presented to Heavenly Mountain Resort and Sierra-at-Tahoe.
